Carly in Action

Hi everyone-

I’ve been taking it easy for a while since I was diagnosed with early stages of heart disease. One day I was so out of breath I  couldn’t finish my morning walk. I went to the vet a few hours later where they took my blood and an X-Ray of my chest.  My vet said we caught it early and that other dogs have lived for years on medication.  After that vet visit I had to take it easy for a while and adjust to my medication. Once my medication kicked in I felt great! I lost some weight and my energy levels are getting back to where they were a few years ago, when I was 12! It’s been a couple weeks and I had a check up at the vet today to make sure my medications are working well. So far so good!  I’m not allowed to run up hills anymore, but I can still hike the flats. I was such a good dog at the vet I was rewarded with a hike at my favorite park (Las Trampas)! There are so many smells there, sometimes I can’t decide which direction I want to go. I like to mosey around and make sure I get to each one of them! Here are some of my best action shots of the day.

Yep, her heart meds will surely improve her life, and help her to be around for awhile longer with a definite good quality to her already awesome, and much loved life. Your love for her shines through in each and every pic here…..

Keep up those wonderful and life fulfilling adventurous hikes….what a simple joy in life for all of you!!

  2. Hi Bonnie & Angel Polly! It’s a such a great time of year for hiking! Las Trampas is the perfect place to hike with her, because it’s got plenty of flats. I’m amazed at how much energy she has right now. She still wants to run up the hills, but there’s enough smells to distract where she needs to be. I’m cherishing each day, and try to do something special with her. We both enjoy hiking!

Where is Las Trampas? It looks like fun!

  4. Hi Jerry! Carly is doing very well on her medications. It’s like turning the clock back two years. She really loves her hikes! Las Trampas is in the East SF Bay area in San Ramon. It’s perfect for her.
